Album Poster Analysis

  ACDC are an Australian hard rock bandThis is a poster for the ACDCs album "black ice". The poster is very clear doesn't have any song names which are in that album. The name of the band is written in the centre of the poster and it is in big, bold , red letters. This is because it is a well known band and they don't need to advertise their looks and faces to be recognised. They have used these colours because they are symbolic for the genre of music which is Rock. They've used another font for the name of the album and the font is a lot more smaller but still quite brigand noticeable.

This the ALL TIME LOW's poster for their album Spray. They have used a mid shot of the band to advertise themselves. Also they have used spray paint so audiences can recognise that is for the album spray. The poster is very clear and all you have is a photo of the band and their name. I don't think this poster works as well as the other two because I think they should of added more stuff like songs and other visuals to remind us of their band as they're not so famous.

Justin Jones an American singer. His music is described as electrified country and roots-rock. This is my favourite poster out of all. This is because it has enough information but not too much and also he is not advertising himself but he is advertising the band and the music.  I like the design because it is a visual that audience can recognise and its not just a simple photo of him. It has the name of the album at the bottom in smaller font. He has used 1 font for the entire poster which i think works really well. I think a poster like this would be most approbate for my artist as they don't like advertising themselves. This is because music is more important to them. 

 This is a poster by Joy Division for the album Unknown Pleasures. This is a very interesting poster. The font is very simple and they have used negative space for their image. The image looks like there's mountains in the middle but actually is just white lines going up and down. They have used this style because it expresses their genre of music. It is very simple but interesting at the same time. Joy Division is is and English Rock band however now days it is more post-punk than rock. This is quite an usual rock poster as they have used dark colours and very simple style.

This is another poster I really like.This is because there  is enough information but theres also images  and a design not just photos of the band.   The Script is an Irish pop rock band. The  name of the band is written in their special font /logo .  At the bottom of the poster there is a  n option where you can go to download the album after the 2nd of  September 2012. This makes it more suitable for todays generation because now everyone uses their mobile phones to listen to music  and don't really buy CD's anymore.
